British School of Bahrain Prize Day

ManamaThe British School of Bahrain (BSB)  held its Annual Senior School Prize Giving Awards Ceremony on 22nd June 2016. Students, parents, staff and Board members celebrated a wide range of academic and personal achievements of senior school students.

Head of School Dr. Charles Wall, Head of Seniors School  Khalil Ahmed,  Deputy Head of School  Julie Anne Gilbert and  Head of Juniors   Katy Brand  presented the awards and Assistant Heads Mr. Barker and Ms Jones welcomed guests and parents. Mr Ahmed spoke of the high quality teaching offered at the BSB and that academic achievement was one of the essential prerequisites for an outstanding school.  He  also spoke about the school being ‘a successful and happy close knit community’

The awards ceremony was particularly noteworthy as it included the COBIS International Student Achievement Awards, BSB International Award, BSB Music Awards and the Head of Year Awards.

Mr. Ahmed spoke about developing students and said that “we should believe in nurturing creativity, confidence and compassion and all of these aspects help create a well-rounded person, so that when a student leaves British School they are prepared for the outside world – be it employment or higher education”

Those in attendance were also treated to musical performances from the GCSE Year 10 music group and the Gifted and Talented Choir.
