ISB teacher attacked in campus

Manama : The man who attacked a senior teacher of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) at their Isa Town campus has been identified as a parent who came from Saudi Arabia demanding admission for his child.

The incident happened a few days ago when one of the vice principals of the school, who was in charge of admissions, was attacked by the man.

School chairman Prince S Natarajan told DT News that they have registered a criminal case against the perpetrator.

The school has submitted all the evidence including video footages and other details to the police.

Meanwhile United Parents Panel (UPP), a group of parents who support the opposition of the school's executive committee, strongly condemned the incident.

UPP chairman Ajaya Krishnan and media convener Faizal F M said in a statement that the school authorities should ensure the safety of teachers and take the culprit to task.

"If the school authorities do not take strong measures to avoid such incidents, the teachers may feel insecure in the campus which will affect their life dedicated to teaching," said the statement. "There are CCTVs installed in the campus and the authorities should ensure that they are working."
