Plots still being staged against Bahrain: Premier

ManamaPlots are still being staged against Bahrain, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, noting that the Kingdom is capable of thwarting them.

“There are agents who are operating under various covers to serve the interests of external sides. We have to be cautious and vigilant and take necessary measures to preserve the security and stability of our country and its people,” he said, stressing the need to deter the conspirators.

To ensure the security and stability of the homeland, the Prime Minister has underlined the government’s unwavering determination to uproot terrorism.

He said that the recent measures strengthened the unity among citizens who were keen on their homeland’s interests.

“There is no turning back or leniency regarding terrorism,” HRH Premier added, emphasising that terrorism belongs to no religion or sect and that it poses the same threats to all countries.

He also stressed that Bahrain was no exception and it has every right to defend the security and safety of its citizens.

While receiving senior state officials, as well as economic, academic, intellectual, cultural and media personalities, the Prime Minister said that the development march will go ahead unabated, based on the values of interaction and cohesion that bind the Bahraini citizens throughout history.

“What is going on around us will strengthen our determination and resolve to carry on the development process for the interests of the homeland and its people,” he said. Tackling domestic issues, HRH Premier stressed that “shura” (consultation) is a deep-rooted Bahraini approach adopted to include the opinion of the society in everything related to its top national interests.

“We are on the right track, and we will remain strong and determined to achieve the interests of Bahraini citizens,” he said, affirming that aspirations of the citizen tops all priorities. He also pledged zero tolerance against whoever trying to subvert security or disrupt the development process.
