Bahrain Endurance team triumph in France
Manama : Yaquob Al Hammadi of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team secured first place in the 160km race after clocking 8:17:26 seconds on his horse, Prudence during the Lignieres Endurance race in France.
He was followed by Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, who was riding Talent de Jansavis and clocked 8:17:27 seconds, almost four minutes ahead of French jockey Sandra Dahil.
More top finishes for the Bahrainis included Aabdulrahman Al Zayed bagging fourth place on Radiani Cabirat, registering a time of 8:29:16 seconds and Mohammed Hilal Khatri who came third on his horse Kalharabi.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, praised the extraordinary efforts made by the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team. He pointed out that the performances reflects the real calibre and proves Bahrain strength.
Shaikh Nasser stated that it will have a positive impact on the morale of the team who will be preparing for other heavy-weight events scheduled to take place soon.
Shaikh Nasser reserved special praise for the administrative and technical teams.
For his part, Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan, the Manager of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, hailed the success of the team, stating that the race witnessed a stiff challenge with participants from many countries in the fray.
The Bahraini jockeys expressed utmost happiness at the achievements of the team in the race, stressing on the important contribution of Shaikh Nasser by sketching the technical plan of the team prior their taking off to France.
