Top honour for Ahli United Bank

Manama : Ahli United Bank (AUB) has received the prestigious Straight Through Processing (STP) Award from Commerzbank AG, one of Germany and Europe’s largest banks, in recognition of the bank’s excellence in the delivery of commercial payments and financial institutions transfers in euros. 

This is the seventh consecutive year AUB has received this award. The award is conferred on banks meeting strict efficiency performance levels in processing euro-denominated payments and settlements through Commerzbank. In respect of the year under review (2015), AUB has achieved STP rates of 99.2 per cent and 99.8pc for MT103 and MT202 transactions respectively. 

“This award recognises AUB’s state-of-the-art payments architecture and reflects its consistently high SWIFT standards, which facilitate automated processing throughout the payment chain”, a statement by Commerzbank said. 

At a ceremony held at AUB’s headquarters in Seef, Michael Gehrmann, Senior Relationship Manager, Commerzbank AG, DIFC Branch, formally presented the award to Shafqat Anwar, Deputy Group CEO, Operations and Technology, AUB. 

Accepting the award on behalf of AUB, Anwar said: “We are pleased to see the hard work and high quality of our operational teams once again recognised by leading global institutions.”
