Female bankers acquitted in fraud case
Manama : Two female bankers have been acquitted in a misconduct case due to lack of evidence.
The duo, aged 39 and 48, were accused of helping a British company operating in Bahrain to transfer the money stored in its bank account as the firm was facing a legal lawsuit.
The money of the company was frozen because of the case against it. According to court files, the Central Bank of Bahrain
circulated a notice to all the banks operating in the Kingdom, informing them not to allow the company to make any transaction.
But the duo, who were serving in a foreign bank, are said to have facilitated the transfer of two million Bahraini dinars that was deposited in its account.
Though they were charged with misconduct, the court later dropped the charges against them due to lack of evidence.
