Fire destroys several properties in Salihiya
Manama : A fire engulfed a workshop in Salhiya last night, destroying the entire property and a neighbouring restaurant and a residence.
Interior Ministry clarified that the fire erupted at an auto-service workshop, confirming that Civil Defence firefighters controlled the blaze.
The ministry also said that no injuries were reported and an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Eyewitnesses informed DT News that the incident took place at around 8 pm in the workshop that is located on Shaikh Salman Highway.
“Smoke engulfed the area and residents of the nearby residential flats were evacuated by firefighters and policemen,” an eyewitness told
An owner of a nearby shop told DT News, “The fire happened at a two-shutter workshop. Two other houses were slightly affected by the fire, but fortunately no one was hurt. Some vehicles that were parked inside the workshop were completely destroyed.”
The Bahraini added that “the cause of the fire or the total losses is unknown until now as investigations are continuing”.
