Bikes stealing teens jail terms reduced
Manama : The jail sentences of three teenagers, who are accused of stealing two motorcycles, have been reduced on appeal. They were earlier sentenced to one year in prison each, but their jail terms were slashed to six months in prison each.
According to court files, the trio are said to have robbed the first motorcycle that was parked near a building in Manama. They dragged it into an alley, and one of them reportedly ignited the engine by dismantling the switch and contacting the wires attached to it.
The defendants are said to have stolen the other bike from the same area. They rode both two-wheelers to Sitra.
Their theft came to light when one of them was nabbed in connection with a riot case. During interrogation, he revealed his involvement in several thefts, including stealing the motorcycles.
The second defendant was later arrested in connection with a sexual case, while the third one was apprehended for his involvement in a riot case.
