MPs condemn terrorist attack in East Eker
Manama : Bahrain’s legislators denounced the terrorist bombing in East Eker, which killed a Bahraini woman and injured her three children.
National Bloc members Isa Turki, Mohammed Al Maarifi, Theyab Al Nuaimi, Mohsen Al Bakry and Osama Al Khaja condemned the attack and called upon all political societies, civil society establishments and the people of Bahrain to denounce such acts.
Parliament’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Member MP Jamal Buhassan mourned the death of Fakhriya Muslim, commenting that she was killed by “the agents of Iran in the region” whom he said, “are targeting the security, stability and national unity of the Kingdom of Bahrain”.
“We demand the Executive Authority to strike hard on organisations or individuals target the Kingdom’s peace and stability,” Buhassan added. Another committee member, MP Mohammed Al Jowder, shared her similar view, demanding that authorities should initiate deterrent punishment against terrorists. The bloc stressed on the necessity of national unity to combat terrorism, violence and hatred, at the same time the insisted on rejecting foreign interference in Bahraini affairs.
Asserting for stringent actions, MP Adel Al Assoomy appreciated the efforts of Interior Ministry to protect the country, stating, “this crucial stage requires us to hold on to each other and stop any attempts to promote segregations and sectarian tensions in Bahrain.”
Body Buried
The body of Fakhriya was buried at Sitra Al Kharjiya graveyard in Sitra. The deceased was an Arabic teacher in Al Noor Secondary Girls School in Isa Town (Not Al Noor International School as mentioned by DT News yesterday. Error is regretted.) She is survived by three sons, a daughter and her husband.
