Bahrain reviews unstable price of 'Super'
Manama : A special committee has been formed to review the fluctuating prices of the new gasoline type in Bahrain, 98-octane ‘Super’.
According to a resolution issued by Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, a new committee is assigned to review the prices of 98-octane ‘super’ gasoline periodically in the local market.
The panel chaired by Oil and Gas General Director Jassim Al Shirawi includes Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Marketing General Director Khalid Buhazza, Bapco Planning and Economics Director Maneeja Safar and National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) Oil Projects Consultant Abdulaziz Saeed as members.
The Minister specified that the committee is tasked to research on the 98-octane gasoline prices and prepare recommendations based on the pricing equation and international purchasing prices, including other operative expenses.
“The recommendations should be submitted to the Minister, so he could take the appropriate decision,” said Shaikh Mohammed, adding that the committee will meet periodically and invite experts for better suggestions.
DT News, in April, reported the introduction of new gasoline grade with an initial price of 195 fils/litre.
