Applied Science University launched new initiative

Manama : Applied Science University has launched a new initiative called “Student Support Fund,” to the support the needy students.

At its initial meeting yesterday, the committee chaired by University President Prof. Ghassan Aouad, announced some full and partial scholarships to some of the charity organisations in Bahrain.

The committee, which funds the scholarship, aims to support deprived students and orphans provided they are academically capable of finishing their studies.

University’s Board of Trustees has approved the fund and its yearly budget is around BD 70,000. A total of 20-25 students with full scholarships, or 40-50 students with partial scholarships will be funded. The rest of the fund will be utilised to support potential students of the University.

 The criteria for applying to this fund is explained on the University’s website. The eligible students can apply for aid from Student Support Fund until August 31. All the applications will be scrutinised by early September and successful applicants will be informed. 

 The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof Waheeb Al-Khaja emphasised the University’s commitment to support talents, who are in need of financial support to achieve their dreams.
