Bahrain gifts 3,000 houses for Eid-Al-Fitr
Manama : The Housing Ministry has started distributing the units of Al-Luzi housing project, in association with the private sector, marking Eid Al Fitr.
“The move came following orders from Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to distribute 3,000 housing units to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr,” Housing Minister Basim Alhamer said.
He also noted that the project, signed with Naseej, was included in the agreement to develop affordable social housing on government-owned lands, alongside the Northern City.
He affirmed that the implementation of the project would encourage the Housing Ministry to cooperate with the private sector to provide affordable housing for low-income citizens.
Alhamar explained that the Al-Luzi was among the projects covered in the Housing Ministry’s plan to build 25,000 units before 2018, as part of the government’s pledge to provide social housing in line with the Royal Directives to construct 40,000 units. The Minister expressed delight at the progress of distributing 3,000 units ordered by HRH the Crown Prince.
He also noted that the Housing Ministry was keen to distribute the units during Eid Al Fitr. He added that the Housing Services Directorate had contacted the beneficiaries to report to the Housing Ministry on the second day of Eid Al Fitr to receive their units. Alhamar extended gratitude to the leadership for their unlimited support to the housing sector.
