Money row resulted in murder of Indian man in Manama

Manama: A financial disagreement between two Indian men apparently resulted in murder, it was reported yesterday.

The body of the 40-year-old victim was identified as Narayanan Muthaiah.

He was found stabbed to death at a parking lot in Mukharqa area in Manama on Friday at around 8pm.

He was working as a fabricator at Yateem Air-conditioning Company in Manama.

Though the circumstance under which he was killed was initially a mystery, witnesses to the incident have now revealed that an argument regarding money resulted in his death.

The killer, an Indian too (according to witnesses) fled the scene as soon as his victim fell down, covered in blood.

However it is not clear if the victim was the debtor or creditor.

Police has initiated investigation and the  victim's roommates have been detailed.

Muthaiah hails from a poor family in Aranthangi, a town in Pudukkottai district in the state of Tamil Nadu, where his wife and two children live.

His friends described him as a soft-spoken person and were yet to come to terms with the tragedy.

The body is kept at the Samlaniya Medical Complex (SMC) morgue.
