Court rejected doctor's suspension review
Manama : The High Administrative Court rejected the lawsuit filed by a male obstetrician who was suspended from work after putting life of a patient at risk.
The plaintiff had mishandled a medical situation, wherein a woman who underwent vitro fertilisation later developed life-threatening symptoms, a probe panel confirmed.
According to the panel, he sent her home at the time she needed hospitalisation. Later, the doctor who was serving in a private hospital, was suspended from work for six months.
He challenged this decision by filing a lawsuit, stating that the panel didn’t speak with him regarding the incident.
However, the court denied his claims, stating, “The plaintiff was given the chance to provide a written response to the panel’s findings after investigating the case. Thus, his claims of not being allowed to comment on the findings cannot be considered.”
