Not a matter of money, says murdered Indian man's family
Manama : The family of an Indian man, murdered in Bahrain last week, has refuted claims that financial disagreement was the motive behind the crime.
The body of 40-year-old Narayanan Muthaiah was found stabbed at a parking lot in Mukharqa area in Manama on Friday at around 8pm.
He was working as a fabricator at Yateem Air-conditioning Company in Manama.
Witnesses to the incident had then revealed that an argument regarding money resulted in his death.
However the motive behind the murder now continues to be a mystery as relatives said it could not be related to financial issues.
Police investigation is going on and they have examined the CCTV clips which captured the incident.
However the culprit’s face is not clear, according to sources.
The killer has not snatched the victim's money or mobile phone, and hence it must be inferred that the motive could be revenge.
Mr Muthaiah was stabbed from the behind. The killer, an Indian too (according to witnesses) fled the scene as soon as his victim fell down, covered in blood.
Police has initiated investigation and the victim's roommates have been detailed.
Muthaiah hails from a poor family in Aranthangi, a town in Pudukkottai district in the state of Tamil Nadu, where his wife and two children live.
His friends described him as a soft-spoken person.
The body is kept at the Samlaniya Medical Complex (SMC) morgue.
Company officials are waiting to repatriate the body to India once the police investigation is over.
Mr Muthaiah had been leading an expat life in Bahrain for the last 10 years and had joined his company just seven months ago.
