CPISP launches candidacy training

Manama The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) launched its candidacy training for 2017 scholarships yesterday. It includes specialised courses and activities that come as part of the final selection process to determine the recipients of the Programme’s annual 10 scholarships.

An induction session was held in cooperation with Bahrain Institute of Finance and Banking (BIBF) at BIBF headquarters. The candidates were briefed on the requirements of the candidacy training courses that will take place during the summer and the first semester of the academic school year.  The candidates include 70 Bahraini students from both governmental and private schools.

Welcoming the students, CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling praised HRH Crown Prince’s vision to develop young Bahrainis through education and training.

Dr. Gessling said the training comprises of a number of specialised courses, including a critical thinking course, an academic writing Course, leadership and communication development training. It will include a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leading certified by the UK-based Chartered Management Institute, as well as Personality and Career Path Assessment.  The Programme will also provide students with preparation courses for the IELTS and SAT exams that will be administered by the Programme. She explained that the courses aim to develop personal skills in leadership and communication, besides academic skills. “The final 10 scholarship recipients will be selected next year based on their Grade Point Averages, results of the IELTS and SAT exams, and the results of the Critical Thinking course and leadership training.

Dr. Gessling also thanked BIBF for its support and continued cooperation with the Programme. She also lauded the quality of training offered by the Institute.
