Registration for Youth City 2030 extended till July 14

ManamaThe Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry has decided to extend the registration deadline for new training programmes provided by the Youth City 2030’s sixth edition until July 14 due to the large number of people registering from different age groups.

Assistant Undersecretary of the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry, Iman Janahi confirmed that there was an increasing number of interested youth from different age groups to enrol in professional and training programmes this year.

The number of seats has increased by 2,500 this year compared to 2,000 seats last year. However, 2,450 seats were filled from June 29 to July 10, thus leaving 50 seats vacant. “But the Ministry decided to continue the registration and provide 200 more vacant seats for the benefit of the largest number of participants in the programmes this year,” she said.

Janahi added that young people participating in Youth City 2030 would form an important part of the workforce in the future. “Youth City provides a solid foundation of different fields for youth to enter the labour market to develop creative ideas, inherit professional quality skills and help them achieve success”.

 Meanwhile, Yousif Qamber, member of the Registration Committee announced that the registration experienced a large turnout for training programmes from age groups 9 to 25. 

He said there is an increase in electronic registration process this year, where about 75pc registered electronically compared to 45pc last year.
