IMMAF ranks Bahrain 19th
Manama : The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has ranked Bahrain in 19th place for the amateur Mixed Martial Arts on their official website immaf.org following Khalid Bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts Organisation’s participation in the World Amateur Championship, which concluded in Las Vegas last weekend.
This came after fighter Fahad Abdulrazaq was crowned with the bronze medal after winning third place, in addition to Bahrain winning the European Open Championship for Mixed Martial Arts held in Birmingham, Britain, where fighter Hussain Ayyad won a bronze medal.
In the team rankings, the top three are Sweden followed by USA and Finland third.
In individual rankings for the 56.7kg weight category, Bahrain’s Abdulla is fifth, Abdulrazaq sixth and Mohammed Adnan is 12th, top ranked is New Zealand’s Brayden Graham, Ireland’s David Fogerty is in second and Frenchman Iurie Bejenari third.
Kerrith Brown, President of the IMAAF praised Bahrain on its achievement of winning the first medal in the recent World Amateur Championships due to the support of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
