Two Europeans nabbed for fixing ATM skimmers
Manama : Two Europeans were arrested for placing skimmer devices at an ATM machine in Bahrain.
Interior Ministry said in a statement yesterday, “In response to a video on the discovery of a device that could read data of ATM machines, the General Director of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security announced the arrest of two Europeans for fixing a fake device on an ATM machine that could read information of bank cards of the clients.”
“The General Director said that after following up the video, the department has launched investigations and the suspects were identified and arrested. Legal proceedings are being taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution. He called upon the public to report illegal activities to the hotline 992,” the Ministry’s statement added.
