Bahrain move up in FIFA rankings

Manama : Bahrain moved up two places to 128th in the latest FIFA rankings released yesterday and are 19th overall in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Top five Nations in the AFC are Iran, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Japan and Australia respectively, followed by the top GCC Nation Saudi Arabia in sixth who also remain unchanged in 65th overall.

The positions of other GCC nations in AFC are UAE seventh and 74th overall, Qatar are ninth and 79th, followed by Oman in 14th and 10th overall and Kuwait are the lowest at 22nd and 144th.

The biggest movement upwards was New Zealand by 54 places up from 147th to 93rd, while the biggest faller was Belize who dropped 50 places from 114th to 164th.

At the top of the rankings the first five - Argentina, Belgium, Colombia, Germany and Chile remain unchanged, while Portugal and France moved up to sixth and seventh respectively with Spain, Brazil and Italy rounding out the top ten.
