France to fight against terror: Envoy

ManamaIn the wake of the Nice attacks, the French Ambassador to Bahrain, Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, yesterday said that terrorist attacks will not weaken France, and the country will continue its efforts to snuff out terrorism.

“France is home to millions of people from all over the world under the banner of tolerance, freedom and justice,” commented Régnauld-Fabre. In a statement, he reiterated his country’s unflinching determination to continue fighting terrorism, which, according to him, seeks to undermine France’s security.

Meanwhile, the ambassador commended the stance of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which expressed full support and solidarity with France in its fight against terror. “This war involves all countries against one enemy - the scourge of terrorism. It’s not restricted to one religion or nationality.”

Commenting on the Nice attacks, Régnauld-Fabre said: “This deadly attack has plunged the whole world in deep grief. The targeted city, Nice, welcomes thousands of tourists round the year.”

According to him, this attack will never deter France from working within the international alliances to combat terrorism. Describing the attack as tragic, the French ambassador remarked, “France is using hi-tech equipment to strengthen its national security.” But he also stressed the need to install cutting-edge checkpoints to identify all those implicated in security cases.
