Bahraini man jailed for attempting murder
Manama : The Supreme Administrative Court has upheld the five-year jail sentence of a Bahraini man convicted of attempting to murder police officers in Sitra.
The defendant was among eight other men involved in the case, all of whom were given five-year imprisonment except one who was sentenced to three years in jail.
The defendants were said to have attacked a police checkpoint with firebombs, but none of the police officers on duty were injured in the attack.
According to police officers, the total number of the attackers was 30, and each one of them was having a firebomb.
They were eventually dispersed by police officers, and three of them were arrested at the scene. The five other men implicated in the case were identified in police investigations.
