Court rejects appeal in firebombing case

ManamaThe Supreme Appeals Court has declined the appeal of a defendant, who was found guilty in an arson case. The convict along with other men was involved in burning furniture in the village of Samaheej. According to court files, the culprits have committed sabotage acts before they were dispersed by police officers.

According to the police, around 15 masked men took part in the protest, which occurred on April 24, 2014.

It was reported that they blocked the roads and hindered the traffic in the village by burning tyres and scattering stones and wastes.

The defendants admitted during interrogation to their involvement in the event. They were charged with arson, committing sabotage acts, participating in an illegal gathering and possessing firebombs.
