Zallaq harbour project inspected
Manama : The Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam Khalaf visited yesterday Zallaq Harbour Project to inspect the progress of the work.
The Minister toured the location, accompanied by Roads Projects and Maintenance Director Sayyed Bader Alawi, Special Projects Chief Colin, Project Engineer Steve Flingin and Area Engineer Rashad Al Rayyan.
Khalaf received a detailed explanation about all implementation aspects and the phases that have been completed so far.
The team in charge of implementation explained that the harbour has the capacity to accommodate 112 boats, each of which is 10m long.
The harbour also contains 56 stores to keep sailing equipment, a shaded yard to fix and maintain boats tools and a parking lot.
The tour also focused on the construction of a road to serve the harbour.
Completion of the road is to coincide with the completion of construction works involved in the project.
The Works Minister also directed for the construction of a garden within the boundaries of the harbour to serve residents of the area. “Other additions to be included in the final phase of the project are to be looked into as well,” he added.
