Bahrainis claim to be innocent in drugs case
Manama : Two Bahraini men accused of peddling and consuming drugs have pleaded not guilty. Both the defendants, however, confessed to consuming illegal drugs. They were arrested on April 14 following a police tip-off.
The first defendant was seen by the police officers with a foreign woman. When the police officers pounced on him, he was in possession of a cartoon box containing three nylon bags that had illicit drugs.
The woman, however, didn’t have any illegal items, and she was let off. The first defendant revealed that the second defendant had provided him with drugs. Instructed by the police, he then contacted the second defendant and requested to buy shabu from him for BD150. As soon as he handed over the drugs to the second defendant, police officers arrested him.
