Eker Blast suspects confess to crime

Manama :  Two suspects arrested in connection with the East Eker terrorist blast on June 30, confessed and re-enacted the crime, said Terror Crime Prosecutor Khalid Al Tamimi yesterday.

“An investigation into the attack that occurred on Shaikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, near Nuwaiderat roundabout, found that one of the suspects, who are still at large in Iran, and work for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, had tasked the two accused to carry out the explosion. It was an attempt to target police patrols and kill police officers,” Al Tamimi explained in a statement. “The 27-year-old provided them with the explosive device.”

The three Bahraini suspects have been identified as Hassan Al Hayki, 35, Hussain Marzooq, 26, and Hussain Ahmed, 27. Two were arrested in last week.  DT News reported earlier that the blast killed Bahraini teacher Fakhriya Muslim, 42, and injured her three children.
