Lack of seaside fence at Nakhool angers Bahrain parents

Manama  : Lack of barricades at the seaside Nakhool Tent raises the concern of parents as it poses grave threat to the safety of children while they access the tent.

The tent, behind the Bahrain Museum near the sea,  was put up as part of the ongoing Bahrain Summer Festival 2016, organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).

Hundreds of children are engaged in various activities like clay modelling, sand artistry, yoga session and cultural activities etc. under one roof.

Though BACA has accomplished in organising the camp in a successful manner, what fizzles out their efforts is the absence of fence near the waterbody.

Despite parents’ concerns, some families were also seen taking pictures along with their children beside the water.

Speaking to DT News, Amen Ali Muhammad, (name changed), a parent of three children, remarked,  “The tent is highly disciplined and constructive, but we are more concerned about our children.  The entrance of Nakhool Tent poses danger to the children. There is every chance of children falling into the water near the tent.” When the issue was brought to the attention of the BACA, an official replied, “We value the concerns raised by the parents. But there is no negligence of safety norms. We also recommend the parents to watch their children while they play in front of the tent.”
