Religious rights and freedom hailed

ManamaBahrain is keen to protect religious rights and freedom of the citizens and residents, said Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan yesterday.

He was speaking while receiving Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Coexistence Chairman Yussef Bu Zaboon. 

The association board members, who represent various segments of the Bahraini society, also attended the meeting.

Bu Zaboon briefed the Minister about the goals and work plans of the organisation in order to foster the concepts of tolerance and co-existence among various sections of the society.

During the meeting, the Minister lauded Bu Zaboon for his efforts. Humaidan pointed out that compassion, social justice, respect for the rights of the citizens and protection of freedom have always been  and will continue to be – the pillars of good governance in the Kingdom. “Those values are distinctive features of the Bahraini people,” he said, stressing the importance of promoting the culture of co-existence and peace worldwide.

Bu Zaboon appreciated the Labour and Social Development Ministry for its support for his organisation.
