1200 students to attend MoI’s 8th summer camp
Manama : The Interior Ministry’s 8th summer camp, targeting participation of 1,200 students.
Camp to be held from July 31 to August 18, it will be attended by 1,000 male and 200 female participants aged 12 to 17.
The summer camp aims to develop mental, physical and psychological capabilities of youth and channel their energies in order to create a sense of national belonging and loyalty among them.
The camp, which was launched by the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) yesterday, is held under the patronage of Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. It will be held in collaboration with Tamkeen.
The launch was announced during a press conference at the Public Security Officer Club yesterday in the presence of Royal Police Academy commandant Brigadier-General Ibrahim Hassan, Training College commander of officer Lt-Col. Ammar Al Sayed, Tamkeen Human Capital Development Project Manager Mohammed Ali Ahmadi and other officials.
Brigadier-General Ibrahim Hassan said the camp would invest positivity among young people and prepare them to be future leaders.
“It would motivate them to seize opportunities and face challenges through self-reliance and discipline,” he added.
Lt-Col. Ammar Al Sayed explained that the camp’s programmes fit the interest and the age of the participants, at the same time keeping up with the development of the modern world.
In order to make the camp successful, the Royal Academy Police will coordinate with all the governorates of the Kingdom in various procedures. These include distributing sign-up sheets, coordinating data entry with more than 150 concerned departments inside the Kingdom and handing out certificates to the participants and collaborators.
The programmes and workshops will be executed with the assistance of a group of academic and authorised trainers.
