Preacher signs pledge, to deliver sermons
Manama : One of preachers, who had been banned from giving the Friday sermons, will be allowed to deliver sermons at a mosque on Friday as he signed a pledge put forward by the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry’s Religious Affairs Directorate yesterday.
The four banned preachers- Jassem Al Saeedi, Naji Al Arabi, Mohammed Sanqoor and Ali Humaidan- were summoned to sign a pledge to commit to the conditions of the religious sermons stipulated by the ministry in 2009.
“Only Al Saeedi signed the pledge and would be allowed to deliver sermons at a mosque on Friday,” the ministry said as it stressed the importance of fulfilling the required conditions.
“Preachers must not use their discourse to serve personal political interests or engage in any form of electoral propaganda,” it added.
