Man receives six months in prison for selling sex tools
A Bahraini man was sentenced to six-months in jail by the Lower Criminal Court for selling sex tools.
According to the court files, the defendant, who was charged with selling and importing obscene materials, was selling artificial penises for BD50-60 in his shop in Adhari. The crime came to light after a tip-off received by the police. An undercover then agent managed to buy several items from an Asian woman at the shop, who was serving as a saleswoman there.
However, the shopkeeper, who was eventually nabbed, claimed that he was selling the materials for medical purposes.
“The shop is specialised in offering medical materials and cosmetic items, including sex tools for people who were facing relevant problems. These items were approved by the Ministry of Health,” the defendant said during
interrogation.
According to the court files, the defendant imported the items for BD2-3 apiece and sold them for prices between BD35-60.
