Charity projects worth BD83,100 implemented
The Sunni Endowments Directorate has carried out six charity projects worth BD83,100 during Ramadan.
Thousands of individuals and families with limited income in the Kingdom have benefited from these projects, said Head of the Sunni Endowments Council Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Hajri.
The donations were received from banks, endowments and philanthropic benefactors in the Kingdom and abroad.
Al Hajri said the free Iftar meal distribution was one of the projects in demand.
Takeaway food parcels worth 20,000 dinars were distributed to more than 25,000 individuals.
The Directorate also distributed more than 2,000,000 drinking water bottles to worshippers around the time of Tarawih prayers in the mosques.
Al Hajri added that 553 Bahraini families also benefited from monthly food coupons worth BD24,420 dinars and 356 Bahraini families from Eid clothing coupons.
The budget for this year was BD10,680.
