Al Doy Sports Centre triumph at championship
Al Doy Sports Centre clinched four medals (two silver and two bronze) at the recently-concluded World Taekwondo Championship in Amman, in Jordan.
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar headed high-ranking team to welcome the delegation on their return at Bahrain International Airport.
Askar conveyed the congratulations of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President, to members of the team and his best wishes for them.
He noted the noticeable development that Bahrain has achieved in taekwondo, especially Al Doy Sports Centre, led by former Bahraini martial arts champion and present coach Abdulla Isa Al Doy.
Bahrain Martial Arts Federation president Eng. Ahmed Al Khayyat congratulated members of Al Doy Sports Centre on their impressive results in this challenging event and commended their performance in the competition.
