Job racket busted, one arrested in India
Kochi : A recruitment racket that cheated around 30 people by promising job opportunities in Bahrain and the UAE was busted by the Indian police. A woman was arrested in connection with the scandal, according to Indian media reports.
The arrested woman has been identified as Sibila, 25. She was allegedly helped by a man, who is still at large. The police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.
“Most of the jobseekers are from Ernakulam, Malappuram, and Thrissur districts of Indian State Kerala. The Irinjalakuda police have registered cases on the basis of complaints filed by the victims,” reported The Hindu newspaper.
“The woman had committed similar crimes earlier too. The police seized many passports and details of the jobseekers from her house,” it added.
