Team Merida in the fast lane

ManamaBahrain Merida Pro Cycling team is attracting huge interest from a large number of top and well-known companies and organisations around the world, it has emerged. 

This comes on top of the recent agreement signed by the newly formed team with Italian brand Rudy Project, which is a leader in the sports eyewear and helmets.

This was revealed by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

Shaikh Nasser affirmed that the team is moving in the right direction of developing a competitive team that is able to promote Bahrain on the international platform.

“The partnership with Rudy Project came as part of the technical team’s keenness to supply the team with high-end and the most advanced equipment in cycling and our team members will now enjoy access to high-quality helmets distinguished by its extraordinary lightweight styling and phenomenal comfort combined with unobstructed wide peripheral field of vision. The team is ready and raring to go and shine in the up-coming challenges and our confidence in it is very high,” Shaikh Nasser explained.

The Rudy Project will provide riders and team staff with its most advanced technical products. 

“Road cycling represents the heritage of our brand and is one of the most important asset of our company” explains Cristiano Barbazza, president of Rudy Project. “For this reason, we are looking forward to take up this exciting and demanding challenge with the Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team for the forthcoming 2017 season. The team will be equipped with top of the line helmets such as the Racemaster: the brand new model which provides a distinctive look and unparalleled standards of safety. In addition, the riders will use the Boost 01 and the Wing 57 helmets, which in wind tunnel testing have demonstrated the best aero performance on the helmet market. 

Along with the helmets, athletes will wear the Tralyx sunglasses, a model that has already seized several World Tour victories and proven to be perfect for pro-cyclist demands thanks to its extraordinary lightweight styling and phenomenal comfort combined with unobstructed wide peripheral field of vision.
