Bahrain attends MIL forum
Manama : The Education Ministry has participated in the Regional Forum on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in Arab States, organised recently by the UNESCO Office in Cairo.
The forum discussed mechanisms to promote media and information literacy culture across the Arab societies.
Representative of Bahrain and Member of the Arab Chapter of Global Alliance on Partnerships on Media and Information Literacy, Shadha Al-Muradi, said the forum had made several recommendations to increase awareness on MIL and its role in facing terrorism and extremism.
The forum also called for availing of community partnership in promoting MIL concepts.
The event was a follow-up to the first Regional Forum on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in Arab States held in Cairo, Egypt, from April 22 to 23, 2015.
Bahrain was selected as a member of the ‘Arab Chapter of Global Alliance on Partnerships on Media and Information Literacy’, which was launched during the event.
