Trial of man accused of rioting in Bahrain adjourned
Manama: The Lower Criminal Court has adjourned the trial of Sayyed Majeed Al Mishal who is accused of rioting and participating in illegal protests in Duraz.
The defendant, according to prosecutors, also encouraged the public to engage in illegal acts and unlawful gatherings there.
The court files also indicate that the defendant failed to cooperate with a police interrogation, when summoned.
Protests reportedly erupted in Duraz following the arrest of controversial religious figure Isa Qassim. He was also stripped of his Bahraini nationality. Several people were questioned for their participation in the illegal protests.
Qassim is facing trial over accusations of money laundering and financing organisations in Iraq and Iran that are hostile to the Kingdom.
