Female Bahrain Traffics employee caught accepting bribe
Manama: A female employee at the General Directorate of Traffic has been caught accepting bribes.
The 28-year-old received the money in exchange of registering vehicles without technical inspection, the High Criminal Court
heard.
The defendant is reported to have committed the crimes in the years of 2011, 2014 and 2015.
Investigations found that the woman was accepting amounts between BD20 and BD120 to complete vehicle registration without technical inspection.
One of those who benefited from her service told the prosecutors that he dealt with her, and he eventually brought over 30 customers who were keen to exempt their vehicles from inspection.
The defendant initially admitted to her crime, but later rejected the accusations against her. She has been charged of forgery and misconduct.
The defendant’s next hearing is on September 8.
