Ministry received 560 suits: Official

ManamaThe Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has received a total of 560 grievances during the first half of 2016, when compared to the total 938 complaints received during the same period last year.

Revealing the data, Communications Director at the Ministry, Fahad Buallay, said the reduction in the number of grievances was due to the Ministry’s achievements and the projects implemented last year and the Communication Directorate’s prompt response to them.

According to Buallay, the communications team has responded to 354 grievances out of the total number of requests within 10 days or less from the date of receiving them. “This also comes in response to the directives of HRH the Prime Minister urging the ministry to respond to citizens’ requests and complaints promptly.”

The number of applications received in the roads sector during the first half of this year amounted to 468, while the sanitary engineering sector received 89 complaints.

Buallay explained that the most repeated requests in the roads sector were made for pavements and roads revamp. In the sanitary engineering sector, most of them called for the construction and upgrade of sewerage networks, the construction of storm water drains and connecting houses to the sewerage networks.

The applications that require further inspection or field visit are responded to within five days.
