Opening win for Hamad Town

Manama : Hamad Town and Muharraq Youth Centre teams got off to fine starts with first round victories in Group Five matches of the Fourth Edition of the Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Futsal League for Youth Centers under the slogan #meeting_of_generations, at he Riffa Club Hall.

In an entertaining match, Hamad Town were 5-3 winners over Jurdab. The Hamad Town team defeated the Jurdab Youth Center with goals from Ghanem Jameel (2) 3 score. Hamad Town team were scored by Ghanem Jameel (2), Mohammed Ali, Abdulrahman Adel and for Jurdab by Mohammed Madan, Hassan Mohammed and Hussain Mohammed.

In another Group match, Muharraq beat East Riffa team 6-1 with goals from Mohammed Jassim (3),  Ghanem Al Dhaen, Isa Hamad and Nawaf Sultan.

Al Safra were 6-1 winners over Jidhafs in Group Six with the goals from Ayman Ali (2), Abdullah (2) and Nawaz Abdulsatar and Abdullah Mohammed with the lone goal for Jidhafs by Hussain Abdullah.

Soth Selha edged Naim and Sulta by 1-0 with Jassim scoring the only goal.

The event sponsors include: Batelco, Coca-Cola, Kuwait Finance House, Majestic Car Center, Bahrain Economic Development Board and Mondial Sports.

This tournament features 32 youth centres playing in eight groups of four on a round-robin basis with the preliminary round continuing until August 23, followed by the Round of 16 from August 24 to 27, with the quarter finals on August 28 and 29, the semi-finals on August 31 and the third place and final match on September 3.

The teams take a break today and tomorrow and resume the action on Sunday.
