Step up coordination to ward of threats: PM

ManamaThe rapidly unfolding events in the region can be dealt only through regional and global coordination, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries expect other nations to share their keenness on ensuring common interests and promoting peace, HRH the PM said.

Prince Khalifa affirmed that Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, plays a crucial role in defending Arab causes.

Saudi Arabia is a deterrent force, which has entitled it to be a bulwark for all Arab countries, the Premier explained.

The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving a number of ambassadors, media personnel, senior state officials and citizens at the Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.

On the occasion, Prince Khalifa expressed his keenness to ensure quality government services for citizens. 

The Prime Minister also called for the need of rapprochement among the members of the Bahraini society.

“Some parties seek to create threats to distract us from our priorities of bringing about more development,” the Premier said.

The PM lauded the patriotic role played by journalists as well as their contributions in shedding light on citizen’s needs.

The attendees hailed the government programmes, under Prince Khalifa’s chairmanship, which, they said, has made Bahrain a favourable destination for foreign investments.
