Waste pick-up now a phone call away

Manama : A 24-hour customer call centre has been opened by Urbaser to tackle waste-disposal issues in the Northern and Southern Governorates, it was announced.

The call centre, according to the waste management company, began its operations on August 1. Customers in the Northern and Southern municipalities can contact Urbaser’ customer care line on 80070000.

The move according to the company allows customers to provide feedback on Urbaser services in their area, as well as request special services, including bulky waste or green waste pick ups.

Commenting on the move, General Manager of Urbaser Bahrain, Luis De la Campa, said: “The call centre will provide citizens from the Northern and Southern Governorates a direct line of communication to Urbaser where they can provide valuable feedback on Urbaser services or request special services.”

Urbaser has implemented similar facilities in other markets including Spain, France, the UK, Argentina and Oman with successful results.

In Oman, the service proved to be extremely successful with the centre managing up to 350 calls per day during the first month.

“The call centre will gather valuable feedback from customers which Urbaser can use not only to monitor customer satisfaction, but also to produce reports that will be used to craft strategies, and streamline and adapt the Company’s services to better fulfil the unique needs of the citizens of Bahrain,” Campa added.

Urbaser also announced that it plans to place dedicated representative offices in both the Southern and Northern municipalities in the near future.

Also on the anvil is an online portal, whereby citizens can request special waste collection services online.

We look forward to connecting with the people of Bahrain, and warmly welcome their valuable feedback through this new customer service hotline,” Campa stressed.
