Olympic victory dedicated to HM the King
Manama : Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Athletic Federation President HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the recent Olympic achievements accomplished by Bahraini athletes in Rio Olympics 2016 in Brazil.
He said in his official page on Twitter, “I dedicate this historic Olympic achievement to HM the King, the Kingdom's wise leadership, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and the people of Bahrain.”
“I am proud and honoured on the winning of Ruth's gold medal, the first to the Kingdom's name at the Olympics. This result is a morale-boosting achievement to add more glories to the Kingdom's sports. I was waiting impatiently for this result following the silver medal win. Now what was a dream has become a reality. We look forward for more,” HH Shaikh Khalid tweeted.
Meanwhile, HM King Hamad expressed thanks for the congratulatory cable received from the Shaikh Khalid, on the gold and silver won by Bahraini athletes in the Rio 2016 Olympics.
HM the King praised the outstanding efforts of Shaikh Khalid that contributed to achieving the Bahraini accomplishments in the great international sports forum. He also hailed the good preparation and constant follow-up of Shaikh Khalid that led to bringing the honorable successes.
HM the King extended thanks to the Bahraini runner, Ruth Jebet, the gold winner of the women’s 3,000 meters steeplechase and the Bahraini marathoner Eunice Kirwa who won the silver medal.
HM the King congratulated the Bahraini runner Ali Khamis on qualifying to the men's 400 meter final competition, as well as all Bahraini athletes participating in the Olympic event. He hailed their sportsmanship and distinct competitiveness that reflect the high spirit of the civilized people of Bahrain.
