Yoga day observed
Indian Embassy, along with Art of Living organised Yoga Day programmes

The first International Yoga Day was enthusiastically celebrated in Bahrain.
The Yoga Day programmes were organized by the Indian Embassy in association with the Art of Living Bahrain chapter and with the support of Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam(BKS) and Middle East Medical Centre.
The Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha, Acting Director of the United Nations Information Centre(UNIC) Samir Imtair Aldarabi, Jafcon CEO Dr Akbar Jaffari, Bapco Manager Medical Services Dr Spyridon Trous, Yoga Therapy Specialist Fatima Al Mansoori were among the dignitaries who attended the event.
The Yoga and meditation session was led by Art of Living, followed by panel discussion.
Many schools and associations in the Kingdom also organized yoga sessions on the day.
The Indian Embassy extended support to these organizations in celebrating the Day and to spread awareness about Yoga.
In connection with the global celebration, the Embassy, in association with the Art of Living, Bahrain Chapter conducted a yoga session in the New Indian School auditorium to enlighten the students about the benefits of Yoga.
The programme emphasized on how students could overcome stress and anxiety with the help of daily practice of Yoga and bring in harmony and peace.
Indian Embassy Second Secretary Anand Praksh attended the programme and emphasized on the role of Yoga in building a developed nation.
Yoga’s emergence at Global arena and its popularity and acceptability from Cairo to Chicago, Nagpur to New York, Tokyo to Toronto and Addis Ababa to Mexico has made it a truly global phenomenon. Yoga now symbolizes the Pan Global appeal of India’s rich cultural heritage.
