Labour Min calls for committing to outdoor labour ban

Minister of Labour Jameel Humaidan called upon private sector companies and institutions to adhere to the ministerial order prohibiting labourers from working from 12 noon to 4 pm during July and August.
The ministerial order aims to protect labourers working in construction and open places from the risk of sunstroke and heat exhaustion.
The minister called for raising labour awareness, engaging labour in first aid training courses, finding ways to bring down temperature and humidity in work places and providing medical care to assist labour to safely perform their work.
He stressed the application of the law accentuates Bahrain's commitment to the protection of labour and preserving their rights and safety in work places.
