Citizens are equal in rights and duties : Premier

ManamaThe government works in the interest of its citizens, who are equal in right and duty, said Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

While receiving a number of senior officials at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, the Premier stated that Bahrain’s accomplishments speak for themselves despite desperate attempts by some to slander the Kingdom’s democratic achievements and gains.

The government does not target any of its citizens apart from the provision of their welfare, the PM added.

Terrorism and violence will not be tolerated and the government will thwart any attempt to drag the country into instability or disturb civic peace in the Kingdom, the Premier affirmed.

Bahrain’s achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa cannot be denied except by hateful anti-Bahrain mindsets, said the PM, adding that the civil society organisations and citizens should defend their own interests and gains accomplished in this era.

Prince Khalifa raised caution about false reports being exploited by international organisations to defame Bahrain.

The Prime Minister also warned of suspicious collaborations against the interests of the Arab world as well as  alien alliances that undermine Arab unity.
