Rio champions lauded
Manama : The Kingdom is proud of what its champions have achieved in the Olympics, said Bahrain Olympic Committee President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on his personal Instagram account.
Efforts and sacrifices of these athletes should be appreciated and respected, added Shaikh Nasser, who is the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
“We can hold our head high because of the efforts and sacrifices made by these athletes. They have performed at the highest level and attained landmark achievements. These citizens, through hard work and perseverance have earned globally-recognised achievements and put their home nation as a competitor to greater nations,” he said.
Shaikh Nasser further pointed out that the diversity of Bahrain - be it in culture, religion or colour - has helped strengthen the bonds between the citizens and residents. He added that this would give the Bahraini community the responsibility of being dedicated towards the betterment of the nation, thus driving the Kingdom to the highest level in various fields.
“The future will bear more opportunities for medals to be earned by the children of this beloved nation and this can be achieved only with high ambitions and sincere efforts.”, Shaikh Nasser added.
“If you think you can become a champion and make yourself and your country proud, then feel free to take the initiative and reach the top with your talent and determination,” Shaikh Nasser concluded.
