SWC Bahrain Championship will begin tonight

Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) hosts the opening round of the 2015/2016 SWS Bahrain Championship tonight, which is an arrive-and-drive series that gives karters of all skill levels a chance to compete in a fun yet professionally run challenge.

It is open to all aged 16 years and above, both men and women of any nationality and any level of experience and costs BD60 to compete per driver, per round.

Tonight's action begins at 9.45pm with practice, with qualifying following at 10.05pm with race one at 10.30pm and race two at 11pm, to be followed by a podium ceremony.

All are welcome to attend and watch the participants battling each other in identical RT9 Sodikarts, which will be provided for by BIKC.

BIKC is inviting all motorsport lovers to come and take part in the series and to experience the joy and unique thrill of grassroots motor racing.The championship is organised by BIKC and Bahrain International Circuit, in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation and BahrainKarting Club.

All races this season will be at night under BIKC’s state-of-the-art track floodlighting system. BIKC is the only grade ‘A’ karting circuit in the world that is sanctioned by the Commission Internationale de

Karting(CIK-FIA) to hold world championship-level races at night. Drivers can earn points at each meeting during the season and at the end of the campaign, the three drivers with the most points will be awarded with a free seat and a chance to compete in the SWS World Finals in France.

Following tonight's first round, the season’s second meeting will take place on June 29 and the remainder of the 2015/2016 championship will take place between October and March next year.
