ManamaBahrain’s final Olympic action got underway this morning with Albert Kibichii Rop and Birhanu Balew in the men’s 5,000 metres final at the Olympic stadium in Rio de Janeiro. It got underway at 3.30am Bahrain time. It will be a tough test as the pair are up against Briton Mohamed Farah the 5,000 and 10,000 metres gold medal champion at the London 2012 Olympics and the new 10,000 metres gold medallist here in Rio de Janeiro, who is looking for a double over the two events.

Balew finished fourth fastest overall out of 51 runners over the two first round qualifying heats.
