Tourism Cultural Guide launched
Manama : Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts & Letters has launched a ‘Cultural Tourism Guide’ that allows tourists to document stamps in museums and cultural sites.
This comes shortly after the success of the Cultural Tourism Passport, launched by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in 2015.
“The project was well received in the GCC Ministers of Culture’s 21st meeting last year and it’s nice that Kuwait is using this concept that promotes cultural, historic and educational sites,” said BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The council will also work on a programme titled “Our Heritage, if it Spoke” to promote the heritage of the country.
Tourists, citizens and residents, after visiting sites mentioned in the guide will get their passport stamped. After the holder gets all the stamps, the passport must be delivered to the Bahrain National Museum to get a chance of winning a travel ticket.
The Cultural Tourism Passport of Bahrain included 21 cultural sites.Thousands of passports were distributed and the number of participants was 634.
